Little did I know when I shot this, alone in my hotel room, how it would be instrumental in altering the course of my life. Bibliophile features Party Wolves in My Skull by Michael Allen Rose. That was my very first taste of bizarro fiction, long before hosting Bizarro Bedtime or going to Bizarro Con, and my first long walk around the mind of my artistic life partner-to-be.
The set was shot during off hours, while I was on location in Marion, IL for the filming of Dig Two Graves. Working on the film was a departure from my background in theatre, a refreshing rebirth creatively. Filming took place in January, and my costuming was essentially a fur loincloth and a pit viper rattlesnake named Sintullo. He and I got along famously. Dig Two Graves garnered acclaim on the festival circuit, and had its nationwide release this spring.
This self-portrait means the world to me, capturing a pivotal moment in my journey. VIPs enjoy the full set this month on my website, and Backstage patrons will see a few outtakes and my first-ever accompanying video clip. I truly hope you enjoy Bibliophile!
