Happy Pride Month! I entered a contest on APclips and won third place! Which I know I could not have done without the support from some of you beautiful humans. While I am here and queer with all my pride, I’m taking up Wrath month. The world has been a powder keg for quite some time, and everyday is a mission to find another angle to help. Because of various pandemic reasons, I can’t be out in the street marching. I can support those who are. There are no shortage of charities to donate to, no end to media to be consumed and internalized, and no stop to the momentum behind this if we collectively don’t allow complacency back in. Once the Chicago Community Bond Fund was flooded with donations, I turned my attention to Campaign Zero. Slacktivism at its best: Turn off your ad blockers, go to this YouTube playlist, and do not skip any of the ads. Revenue collected supports BLM.

I encourage everyone to listen to Clipping. which has mesmerized me with their sound for a while. They have a new name-your-price album out with two phenomenal tracks. The first of which is Chapter 319. It will give you chills. They sampled Big Floyd from back in the day. Everyone is a multifaceted human being with chapters to their life and stories which cannot be told in succinct measure. It has been playing nonstop in my head since it dropped on Juneteenth. Get it here: https://clppng.bandcamp.com/album/chapter-319 On Bandcamp it states, “sales of these two tracks will be periodically collected and donated to organizations dedicated to racial justice.” Go through and listen to all of their discography, honestly. Clipping. never ever holds back. I know you might be here to just escape the horrors for a few minutes, and I support mental health breaks. However, this is beyond important and I want you to know where a portion of the money you’ve pledged to me is going.

And now for something completely different...

035 - Powdered Sugar (07).jpg 035 - Powdered Sugar - Backstage (20).jpg

Each time I work with Varekai, we have a cat crash the set and make a cameo appearance. Powdered Sugar is no exception! Her kitty was super interested in the mess I'd made of her kitchen. Once the sugar cloud settled, there was cake and frosting everywhere. Varekai and I got down and dirty in her kitchen. Sure, it starts out innocent enough, but by the end, I'm on the floor covered in sweets. I made a little cake and got carried away. Varekai will go to any length for the shot. I admire her fairy-like spirit. I can say any freaky thing, and she’s all about making it happen. Her closeups are some of my favorites.

VIPs are getting the full 40 image photoset, and Backstage Patrons also get 25 beyond-the-set images this month PLUS a behind-the-scenes video clocking in at nearly 9 minutes! Be sure you're logged in on my site to view the images. Feel free to give the set some love by leaving a comment or clicking the heart below. As always, thank you to all my Patrons. You make art happen.
