February is coming to a close, and soon Mardi Gras will bring the most sinfully delicious pączki. Before I get too ahead of myself, I want to share my Valentine’s Day shenanigans with you all! As has been the case the last several years, Michael and I figure model for the Grotesque Burlesque drawing club each February. It just so happens the actual factual date fell on a Thursday this year, so we spent our Valentine's in various states of undress for a room full of friends and strangers. Sadly, the Uptown Underground has closed its doors, but the drawing club quickly set up shop at Ars Memoria. It is this brilliant space in a warehouse building that serves as both a fine art gallery and a tattoo studio. Modeling with a partner presents as many challenges for the artists as it does opportunities for poses. The scope of two bodies, even in the longest poses, would be a race against the clock if not for reference photos. I keep an archive of our past sessions on my website here. Check back in a few weeks for this year’s art. (Fun fact: two of those original pieces hang above our bed!)
In terms of a photoset worthy of lotus-eaters, there is none so fit as Rose in Black Lace. Scaredy Lion and I retreated into the penthouse, from the balcony, to roll around on the crisp white sheets. I’m particularly proud of the classically inspired poses and his remarkable composition. Fans have the desktop background attached, VIP Patrons are getting the full 26 image photoset, and Backstage Patrons also get 10 beyond-the-set images this month! Be sure you're logged in on my site to view the images. Feel free to give the set some love by leaving a comment or clicking the heart below.
As always, thank you to all my Patrons. You make art happen.
