Hello, my lovelies! I'm sure you must have seen my newest blog, chronicling July and August adventures. If somehow you missed it, or you'd like to give it a second look, the direct link is Moments into Memories.

As for September, I've kept things interesting. My 2007 Mazda3 sport was a mighty steed, but her bumper-to-bumper warranty was a thing of the past. Presented with a lengthy repair list and price tag I couldn't swallow, I turned my attention to the 2018 Mazda3 Touring. Eleven years of tech advances really make it feel like an upgrade, even if I was sad to see my companion for many a road trip go. It was a sudden choice, and I'm ultimately quite happy with the outcome.

However, when one thing is looking up another is crashing down. Within the week, I was legitimately having trouble swallowing with a very sore throat. As expected, a trip to the clinic later, I was prescribed a bag full of drugs for strep throat. Strep as an adult is a real pain. I've been lethargic and without a voice for the majority of last week(end). Just today I'm feeling a bit better, and trying to get back to business.

The other exciting thing worth mentioning is another positive addition to my life, so that's a good place to end our recap. I went with an entourage to the Bristol Renaissance Faire on closing weekend. Our crew was outfitted by Chainmaille Fashions, as is our custom. We tend to attract a lot of attention, both by design and by our general propensity for fun and frolic. After a very lively pub crawl, we crashed into the hookah lounge for a layabout. The other party sitting in the floor seating area was already talking about our group as we arrived. We made some new friends! One in particular, in fact, was simply wonderful in all the best ways. I hope to introduce you all to her in the near future. Wish us well in the meantime, won't you?  ;)

Autumn is here and fall weather is promised to us soon. Still, the shadows linger a little later and start to creep a little earlier. In the spirit of sliding into my favorite of seasons (HALLOWEEN!) let's have a look at Soft Shadows. Shot by SNS Photo, this is one of my monochromatic exploits. We focused on playing with the light; letting it dance along my curves, sculpting it into gradients. I'm fascinated by treating the body as a landscape, which we've experimented with here.
