As soon as I find words for Viva La Muerte's burlesque tribute to The Wall, I'll have to write an epic blog about it. The quick and dirty is that it features the most awe inspiring acts by the most talented performers in the city. I'm pleased to be a very small part of it - the part resting on the perky business of both Viva herself, and Trixie Sparx. Suadela Intimates will be rocking a table at the show on all Friday night dates. Nine shows left in the run, and I'm truly very sorry if you're not able to make it. It must be seen to be believed, and even then I'm sure a second, third, and fourth viewing will make me appreciate it all the more.
Upcoming Performance Dates:
HER HRC Chicago @ Atmosphere, 5355 N. Clark St., Chicago, IL 60640
Sunday, January 16 - Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
General Admission: $10 - Includes an annual HRC membership! Buy Tickets Online.
Space is limited, arrive early - this event is expected to reach capacity.
You know this one by now. Get there early to get a spot up front. I'm in the early set, but party until the wee hours of the morning, because the entertainment train at Exit just keeps rolling. See you there!
I've got a warm cup of cocoa and a great book waiting for me in my bed. Maybe my next blog will include some of the intellectual candy I've found in this book I'm reading...
First off, a little bit about that book I've been reading. It is Brain Rules by John Medina. It would be a quick read if I could sit down and devote the undivided attention to it. As it is, I'm about half way through. The material isn't dry despite the technical subject matter. He's using his own rules to keep you interested and they work. After I'm done with the book, I will probably start following his blog.
***Do you see that lovely little pink box to the right on every page? Fill it out for me. I'll send you little notes. You won't regret it. I promise.***
The HER:HRC show I'm dancing next weekend is SOLD OUT. I'm sorry to those of you who snoozed and lost out. But never fear, there are other places to see me this month. My only other performance date left this month is Vaudezilla's Broadzilla at Exit. Be there or be square. No excuses, this one is free and doesn't require buying tickets presale. Just show up, drink, and be merry.
1.11.11 Edit: Okay, so I may have lied a little. I *just* picked up another gig with Vaudezilla. This Saturday @ 11pm at the Lincoln Tap Room. Another *free* bar show. Classing it up for this one!
Of course, you simply must bite the bullet and buy your tickets to "The Wall" a tribute brought to you by Hot & Heavy Burlesque at the Viaduct Theater. Tonight's show may well be sold out, but there are 8 more shows after that. It is a pick of Metromix, Red Eye, and Timeout Chicago. I'll be there with Suadela Intimates, selling beautiful pasties as seen on Viva La Muerte and Trixie Sparx in the show! Not to mention earrings that have a burlesque flair you can wear anywhere.
Lastly, I want to put the spotlight on a lingerie brand that I'm madly in love with. No, for once in life, it is not Frederick's of Hollywood. (I do have a wider range of taste, if not a thicker wallet to support it.) Kiss Me Deadly is a foxy brand that I cannot get enough of. Case in point:
It oozes class and sophistication. A nod to a time of high glamour. Retro styled and vintage lingerie is a huge trend on the rise, and as it grows the more there is to love. So much of these pieces are the perfect marriage of old and new. New fabrics and techniques meeting old cuts and patterns. Modern twists on classic, luxurious silk. If you're looking for something special for your special someone, this is it. If you don't have a special someone, I seldom turn down a gift. ;)
London's Kitten Club will vouch for the burlesque applications of the brand. And more labels than just Kiss Me Deadly are doing it justice. I'll spotlight another brand soon.
It has been a long, long day. I have to do this one in mental vomit format, I'm afraid. First let's recap the whirlwind of a weekend. I spent Friday at Hot & Heavy Burlesque's The Wall again. It never ever ceases to amaze and inspire. Saturday I had the distinct pleasure of dancing for Vaudezilla at Lincoln Tap Room for Lincoln Fair. Photos below. Sunday I had an amazing time out at @tmosphere in Andersonville for the HER HRC benefit show. Bonus: I got to dance with Jeez Loueez twice in one weekend. If you haven't seen her, you should. You have no idea what you're missing; it is criminal really.
Also added to the gallery are photos from last year's Broadzilla @ Exit: October Edition.
Photos courtesy Monkey Fetish Studios and Vaudezilla's Pepper Paparazzi, respectively. :)
This week is earring week at Suadela, but that doesn't mean we're short on the sexy. Oh no! Quite the contrary. Have a peek at the goods. Go ahead. I won't tell. ;)
Titillating Tassel Earrings in Cherry Bomb Red and Gothic Decadence Metal Tassels.
Don't forget to come out to the show next weekend at Exit. I'll be there. Will you?
Last, and oh so very, very far from least... I am ecstatic to announce I will be performing in this year's Windy City Burlesque Festival. Get your tickets for Friday Night at Midnight. Or if you're a true die-hard fan, go all the way and go to all three nights of amazing shows.
Until next time, kittens. Hugs, kisses, and well wishes!
Let's do this chronologically. A couple Sundays ago I danced at HER HRC. The only photo I have of my performance is this, but it was delicious. More on that later.
Wednesday I get to hang out with the cool kids of the World of the Weird Monster Show. We're hard at work on a double feature for the Monster Channel. Don't forget to spend your Wednesday night watching us!
Thursday I'll be working on brand new creations for Suadela Intimates. Hopefully I'll get a chance to shoot some eye-popping new photos for the shop.
Friday is Exit. Be There. 10:30 set. And get yourself a front row seat to the very same act the above photo is from.
In the same spirit of deliciously eye-popping nudity, I want to shoot another photoset for Zivity. "Purple" was just dipping my toes into the site. I really want to dive in head first. I have every intention of shooting with Aftermath Photo again, as soon as possible. In the meantime, I'm considering other seriously qualified options. I can't wait to get down to business.
Also, SuicideGirls wrote a saucy little article featuring yours truly as a contributor. I was interviewed as a lingerie expert, and group owner on SG of the Lingerie Addicts group. It is on the SFW blog, so even if you're not a member, you can read all about the hottest trend SuicideGirls are slipping into - and out of.
